Technology and Accessibility Help

Technology

Sorry everything isn't working perfectly! Of course I am here to help and feel free to consult with me about your technology issues. However, because I am not available 24/7, I offer a few ideas here that may help you solve your issues.

First do your best to identify the problem and write it down. Is this an issue with your hardware (computer, microphone, speakers, etc.) or software (computer programs)? For instance, if you can hear sound with one program and not with another then your computer speakers are working and it is a problem with the computer program. Try some experiments to determine the extent of the problem. The more specific you can be about the problem, the better.

Based on your observations, now seek a solution or the appropriate help.

For hardware problems it may be best to consult your computer manufacturer or the store where you purchased the computer.

In some instances software problems resolve themselves by following these steps:

1) Close all of the programs and reboot (restart) your computer. Computers work best when they are periodically (if not daily) rebooted.

2) If the reboot doesn't fix the problem try uninstalling and re-installing the program. If you have not uninstalled a program before you might seek assistance.
